Depending on your HAP plan, coverage may include ABA therapy for autism, speech therapy, occupational therapy, autism evaluations and developmental testing, counseling, and parent support services. Coverage varies by plan.
Yes. HAP typically requires prior authorization for ABA Therapy and they require a comprehensive autism evaluation for authorization. HAP may also require prior authorization for speech and occupational therapies, and some diagnostic services. Healing Haven manages the authorization process and keeps families informed of approval timelines.
Many HAP plans cover autism evaluations when medically necessary. Healing Haven is in-network with HAP for developmental testing and autism evaluations. Coverage and authorization requirements vary by plan, and our team verifies this before scheduling.
Speech and Occupational therapies are typically a covered benefit. Additionally, depending on the specific insurance plan benefits, speech and occupational therapy benefits may increase with an autism diagnosis. Speech and OT authorizations require a prescription from the child’s Pediatrician.
Authorization timelines vary based on clinical documentation and plan requirements. While timelines differ, our team works proactively to submit complete requests and minimize delays.
